Mission Support Services

Mission planning, mission command support, and safety reporting, from the first timeline to the final debrief.

Why it matters

Missions don’t fail in the habitat. They fail in the plan, the console, and the silence after.

We bring professional structure to analog missions: a plan with real contingencies, a mission control that knows how to communicate with an isolated crew, safety reporting that runs every day, and a debrief that turns the mission into learning.

We also plan and staff complete analog missions for research, providing the site, the structure, and a professional, trained crew.

The mission lifecycle

Four phases. One team.

  1. Plan

Objectives, timeline, roles, communications plan, risk register, go/no-go criteria.

  2. Prepare

Crew selection and training, readiness reviews, procedures, mission control rehearsal.

  3. Execute

Mission command support, daily safety reporting, anomaly response, decision support.

  4. Debrief

Structured crew and staff debriefs, incident investigation, written report, next-mission changes.

What we deliver

Mission support services

Mission Planning

Pre-mission · 4–12 weeks out

Mission objectives translated into a workable timeline: crew roles and shift structure, communication windows and protocols, contingency and emergency plans, mission-specific risk review, and go/no-go criteria for launch and for every critical phase.

You get: a mission plan and timeline, a risk register with mitigations, a communications plan, emergency response procedures, and a readiness checklist for crew and mission control.

Mission Command Support

During the mission · Remote or on-site

Trained mission control support for the duration of your mission: staffed console coverage or coaching for your own team, CapCom-style communication protocols, shift handovers, decision support when things deviate from plan, and anomaly response.

You get: mission control staffing or embedded coaching, console procedures and handover templates, a daily operations log, and a direct line to a human factors consultant for the duration.

Confirm coverage model: full staffing vs. coaching your mission-control team, remote vs. on-site, and hours per day.

Safety Monitoring & Reporting

During the mission

A reporting cadence that captures near-misses and incidents while they are fresh, daily safety summaries for mission leadership, crew wellbeing check-ins, and escalation criteria agreed before launch.

You get: daily safety reports, an incident and near-miss log, escalation protocols, and a post-mission safety summary for your partners and funders.

Debriefs, Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis

Post-mission

Structured debriefs with crew and mission staff, HFACS-based investigation of any incidents, and root cause analysis that goes beyond the surface to uncover systemic and human causes, then solutions that stop repeat events.

You get: facilitated debriefs, an investigation report with findings and recommendations, and an implementation plan for the next mission.

Research Mission Planning & Staffing

End to end

For research groups and universities that need a mission but not a habitat program: we plan and staff analog missions for research, providing the site, the structure, and a professional, trained crew from the STAR Candidate Registry.

You get: a turnkey analog mission designed around your research protocol.

Confirm which sites/habitats are available for research missions and whether this is offered to external researchers today.

Mission control room

How it works

From discovery call to mission control

  1. Book a 30-minute discovery call

Share your challenges and goals. We’ll tell you honestly whether and how we can help.

  2. Define the scope

Together we identify the most impactful services for your habitat, crew, or mission, and what “done” looks like.

  3. Receive your custom plan

A tailored proposal with clear outcomes, timeline, and delivery options (remote, on-site, or hybrid).

  4. Engage & elevate

We deliver, debrief, and leave your team with systems they can run without us.
